Bad Faith
Bad faith is one of the grounds on which the Trademark Office can reject a trademark application. There are a variety of situations that constitute bad faith: (1) copying or imitating another trademark with the intention of getting a free ride on the fame of the trademark, or to cause damage to the trademark owner (2) unfair competition (3) deceiving and misleading consumers. Bad faith is also grounds for opposing a trademark application, and applying for it to be cancelled.
Broadcasting Body
Broadcasting Body is any organization or legal entity that broadcasts content using a transmission device (wired, wireless or electromagnetic), such as television, radio or the internet. Broadcasting Bodies have special rights under the Copyright Law. They can rebroadcast material for the purposes of reporting news for up 24 hours after the initial broadcast or performance without getting permission from the original broadcaster or copyright owner, as long as they mention the source. Material that is broadcast by a Broadcasting Body is protected for 20 years from the date of first broadcast.
